Upon graduating from Tulane University with an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering, Dr. McMahon received both a Master’s Degree in Physiology and a Medical Degree from the University of Louisville. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is a Fellow of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as a certified menopause practitioner for the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). Dr. McMahon is now focusing her practice on gynecological patients, from adolescence through menopause. Dr. McMahon performs a wide range of office procedures including hysteroscopic polyp and fibroid removal as well as endometrial ablation. She sees her obstetric patients through the first trimester, ensuring a smooth transition to her partners who will provide ongoing prenatal care. Dr. McMahon is a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University’s affiliate medical school, The Feinberg School of Medicine, and has been practicing since 2001. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three amazing children. She is committed to medical student education and giving back to the community. She has volunteered at a public health clinic on the northwest side of Chicago since 2009 providing gynecologic care to women in an underserved community. In 2019 she also began volunteering at a second clinic in the West Town neighborhood.
