Dr. Edelman started with Northwestern Specialists for Women in the fall of 2020, specializing in both high and low risk pregnancies, infertility, individualized contraception counseling and treatment, adolescent gynecology, endometriosis, uterine fibroids and polyps, gynecologic surgery for a wide range of conditions, and general well-woman care. She performs in-office gynecologic procedures that optimize treatment success as well as patient comfort and convenience. She also has expertise and a strong interest in minimally-invasive surgery, including both laparoscopic and robotic gynecologic surgery. She is a certified robotic surgeon with the Da Vinci Surgical System.
She emphasizes patient education in her practice and hopes to inspire all of her patients to be active participants in their healthcare. Dr. Edelman received a BS in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She then completed her residency training at Lutheran General Hospital, where she served as the Chief of Education. She is proficient in Spanish. She has a passion for teaching and is involved with medical education at all levels at Northwestern University’s affiliate medical school, The Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Edelman participated extensively in local community health outreach, as well as international mission trips throughout her medical training. In her spare time, she loves to travel, explore the city with friends and family, spend time outdoors, and lounge around with her golden retriever, Penny.
